'Aberdeen' fan David Gowns left defender Jack Mackenzie, 25, with permanent injuries and later attempted to shift the blame onto other club fans.Gowns was convicted in Dundee court. This incident serves as yet another reminder of the dangers of fan violence at sporting events. Leaving horrific consequences for players and undermining the spirit of the game, such incidents require serious attention from organizers and human rights advocates.
