Abolition of the limit on child support in Britain: businesses called it madness.
Call to reduce social security spending
According to The Sun: The CEO of AO WORLD has proposed to the Chancellor to cut social security spending instead of raising taxes for companies. John Roberts, founder and CEO of the electronics retailer, described the initiative to abolish the limit on payments for children as an 'ugly decision.' Currently, this limit restricts additional Universal Credit payments for the third and subsequent child, creating difficulties for businesses.
“It’s just madness,”
The introduction of new costs under the proposed changes can significantly impact the business environment.
The situation around social spending is becoming increasingly complex, and expert opinions are divided. Businesses demand stability and clarity in policy, seeking to avoid unpredictable costs that could slow their development. Time will tell if the government heeds these calls and what decisions will be made in the near future.
