The Ukrainian national football team played its last match in 2024 within the framework of the Nations League. To qualify for the tournament playoffs, Ukrainians needed to defeat Albania and hope that Georgia would not win against the Czech Republic. The match in Albania ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of Ukraine, and the same result was recorded in the Czech Republic vs. Georgia match (2:1). Thus, the Ukrainian team took second place in its group and will await an opponent in the Nations League playoffs to promote.

Zinchenko scored the first goal in the first half in the 5th minute.

In the 10th minute, Roman Yaremchuk scored the second goal.

With a score of 2:0 in favor of Ukraine, the teams went to the locker room.

In the second half, the Albanian team became more active and created several dangerous moments. One of them resulted in a penalty, which Bajrami converted in the 75th minute. Despite a tense ending to the match, the Ukrainians managed to maintain their victory.

This victory means that the Ukrainian team will fight for promotion to League A in the Nations League. To do this, the Ukrainian team will have to play against one of the teams that finished third in their groups in the higher division. Possible opponents could be the national teams of Belgium, Hungary, Serbia, or Scotland. The draw for the next round will take place on November 22.

Zinchenko and the Ukrainian team dedicated the first goal in the match against Albania to the thousandth day of the war.

In the final, sixth round of the group stage of the Nations League season 2024/25, the Ukrainian national team will play against Albania on November 19.
