Shevchenko awarded the winners of the Cup of the National Guard of Ukraine.
In Kyiv, at the Rejo football hall (VDNG), the Cup of the National Guard of Ukraine in football took place to celebrate the 11th anniversary of the creation of the National Guard of Ukraine. Six teams from military units of the Kyiv garrison participated in the competition.
The President of the Ukrainian Football Association, Andriy Shevchenko, attended the final match and congratulated the participants on the anniversary. He also presented awards to the winners and supported the military, emphasizing the importance of sports in their lives.
The Argentina national football team secured its place in the 2026 World Cup after a humiliating defeat of the Brazilian team with a score of 4:1. This match was part of the qualifying tournament.
In the first round of the qualifying cycle for the 2026 World Cup in the European zone, there will be 12 groups. The winners of each group will receive direct tickets to the final stage, and the 12 teams that finish in second place, along with the best group winners of the Nations League, will compete in playoff mini-tournaments.
A total of 48 spots from various continents will be contested for the 2026 World Cup, with 16 allocated to UEFA (Europe).
Thus, Argentina has already secured its place in the 2026 World Cup and comes in as the reigning world champion in football.
