Ex-referee of the English Premier League admitted to a crime against a child: details of the case.
According to The Sun: Controversial Premier League referee David Coote admitted his guilt in producing an indecent image of a child after being exposed by The Sun.
Checks of Coote's electronic devices conducted by the Football Association as part of an investigation into his links to drugs and match-fixing uncovered horrifying video footage of a 15-year-old boy.
Roland Leon A recording from 2020 in which Coote referred to former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp as a 'f***ing German'The agency hired by the Football Association classified this as a Category A video — the most severe — and reported it to the police, who searched the home of 43-year-old Coote in Collingham, Notts.
“The horrifying criminal video was discovered only thanks to the investigation by The Sun, which prompted further inquiries,” a source close to the case reported.
Coote, who consumed cocaine between matches, initially denied the allegations of producing the video but later admitted his guilt in court in Nottingham.
He has been banned from contacting individuals under the age of 18 and from living at an address where minors reside.
A sexual violence prevention order will be sought against him, and he will be registered as a sex offender.
Judge Nirmal Shant noted that the offense “clearly crosses the threshold for imprisonment,” so Coote's release under control does not mean he will escape a prison term in the future.
Coote, who previously had no criminal convictions, could face up to ten years in prison.
He was removed from officiating duties in November last year after a video was released showing him referring to former Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp as a 'f***ing German' and the club as 's***'.
A few days before The Sun reported on his drug use during the summer Euro, after the quarter-final between France and Portugal, where he was the official VAR.
Coote was also under investigation by the FA for gambling, as it was found that he was exchanging messages with a friend before a Championship match, where he was asked to issue a yellow card to a player.

In an interview with The Sun in January, Coote, who is gay, noted that feelings of shame about his sexuality “led to struggles with drugs.”
He was seen in June delivering parcels for Evri.
He said: “I am trying to move forward and regain a sense of responsibility and purpose.”
Coote will be sentenced in December.
