The Defense Forces eliminated a Russian candidate for the master of sports in boxing.
The defenders of Ukraine eliminated the Russian occupier Andriy Chebodaev. This was reported by the Base of Ukrainian sports.
It is noted that Chebodaev was the commander of the unit and the combat vehicle. He was born in the Republic of Khakassia in 1977.
In addition to his service, the occupier was engaged in boxing and had the sports title 'candidate for master of sports'.
Russian propagandists report that the occupier was eliminated on August 18, 2024, but the farewell ceremony for him took place today, January 24.
Also, Russian athlete Alsu Minazova received 'neutral status' from the International Canoe Federation after participating in propaganda events with Sergei Lavrov.
Minazova also collaborated with the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, in the framework of propaganda events and congratulated him on his birthday on social media.
The Base of Ukrainian sports investigation shows that Lavrov has been sanctioned by many countries, including Ukraine, for supporting the war against Ukraine. Also, Khabirov has received sanctions for supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The President of the International Ski Federation, Johan Eliasch, supported the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under 'neutral' status, as was the case at the 2024 Olympics.
After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Russian and Belarusian athletes were suspended from all competitions. However, FIS is considering the possibility of allowing athletes from these countries under 'neutral' status.
Eliasch stated that athletes should not bear responsibility for their origin and should not be limited.
This statement by Eliasch became relevant during the election campaign, as he is a candidate for the president of the IOC. It is worth noting that the current president, Thomas Bach, refused to run for re-election after his second term ends in 2025.
Russians and Belarusians remain banned from competitions until the end of the 2024/25 season. Currently, the qualifying cycle for the 2026 Winter Games is underway, in which they cannot participate.
Moreover, Russian swimmer Yevgeniya Chikunova has the opportunity to compete despite her support for dictator Putin and the war against Ukraine.
In addition, Olympic taekwondo champion Maksym Khamtsov held a tournament where the occupiers brought Ukrainian children from the occupied part of the Donetsk region.
