Ukrainian Forces Strike Multiple Russian Targets, Destroying Air Defense System, Boat, and Command Posts.
Ukrainian Defense Forces Target Russian Military Assets
According to UATV: On March 7th and into the night of March 8th, Ukrainian forces conducted a series of strikes against Russian military targets in temporarily occupied territories and within the Russian Federation itself. These operations were aimed at degrading the enemy's military resources. This comes as Ukraine continues its defense against the full-scale invasion that began in February 2022.
Key Targets Successfully Hit
Among the primary targets that were successfully struck were:
- A 'Pantsir-S1' anti-aircraft missile and cannon system;
- A BK-16 landing craft in the area of Novoozerne (temporarily occupied Crimea);
- Command and control centers for unmanned aerial vehicles, specifically:
- An 'Orion' drone control station in Krasnoselske (temporarily occupied Crimea);
- Similar facilities in Dunayka (Belgorod region, Russian Federation);
- Huliaipole (Zaporizhzhia region);
- Selydove (temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region).
Additionally, command and observation posts were hit in the areas of:
- Nyzhniy Rohachyk (temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region);
- Novopetrivka;
- Volnovakha;
- Selydove (temporarily occupied Donetsk region).
Over the past day, Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 930 Russian personnel and destroyed five tanks, 55 artillery systems, and nearly 300 units of automotive equipment. These figures highlight the intensity of the ongoing combat.
These strikes form part of Ukraine's strategic efforts to weaken Russian military infrastructure amid the protracted conflict. The destruction of key assets and the significant personnel losses inflicted on Russian troops could influence the future course of hostilities. Such heightened activity by Ukrainian forces may indicate preparations for new operations or counter-offensive actions in the near term.
