Roman Abramovich's son, Arkady, received a Lithuanian passport in 2023, reported the head of the Migration Department Evelina Gudzinskatė.

Previously, this information was not disclosed due to confidentiality concerns. Arkady and his sister Anna received Lithuanian citizenship through their grandparents, who were Lithuanian citizens.

According to the Migration Department, Anna received a Lithuanian passport in October 2011 and renewed it in May 2021. Arkady obtained his passport according to the new procedure, with the minister's signature.

At that Time, Roman Abramovich was already under sanctions. It was previously known that he transferred control of his funds to his children before Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The Guardian published this information at the beginning of 2023.

Earlier, the Lithuanian Ministry of Internal Affairs investigated how Abramovich's children obtained the country's citizenship.

Also, details of Abramovich's deal with Putin's financiers were revealed. The Russian oligarch, who is under sanctions by the UK and the EU, never acknowledged financial ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin. But disclosed documents from Cyprus confirmed a $40 million deal made in 2010.
