Vitali Klitschko's son receives debut call-up to the Ukraine national basketball team.
The men's Ukraine national basketball team announced their squad for the EuroBasket 2025 qualifying matches. The games against Israel will take place on November 23 and 25 in Riga, Latvia.
For Daniil Sypalo and Vitali Klitschko's son Maxim, this will be their first call-up to the national team, while Novitsky will have a chance to play in official matches for the first Time. Sanon returned to the team after Stephanovsky did not include him in the squad for the first qualifying window, and the team suffered two defeats.

In the previous matches, the Ukraine team lost to Slovenia (73:87) and Portugal (77:79). The top three teams in each group, except for the group that includes the EuroBasket 2025 co-hosts (Cyprus, Finland, Poland, and Latvia), will advance to the final round. In groups that include host countries, the host and two other teams with the highest rankings will qualify.
The men's Ukraine U20 national team reached the final of the EuroBasket 2024 in Division B. The Ukrainian basketball players played the final match against Romania and lost with a score of 80:58, but secured their place in Division A.
Maxim Klitschko ranked fifth in blocks at the tournament (1.6 blocked opponent shots on average per game) and entered the top 10 of the individual ranking of the European Championship with this indicator along with Daniil Sypalo.
