Keir Starmer does not rule out income tax increases
According to The Sun: Sir Keir Starmer today did not dismiss the possibility of increasing income tax in the upcoming budget. The Prime Minister sparked outrage by hinting at the likelihood of breaking a key promise of the Labour Party not to raise income tax, VAT, or national insurance.
When questioned during Prime Minister's questions, he was forced to reaffirm the pledge not to increase these three taxes.
“If I tell you now that I will raise taxes, I will not be fulfilling my duty.”
Debate surrounding the potential tax increases continues in society. Many experts and observers are eagerly awaiting the budget details, as this issue could impact the country's economy and the well-being of its citizens.
One thing is clear: despite the developments, the Labour Party finds itself under increasing pressure to keep its promises while addressing the financial challenges facing the country. Negotiations on this matter will continue, and society will closely monitor the government's decisions.
