Three New Contract Types for Ukraine's Armed Forces: Terms and Conditions Announced by Commander-in-Chief.
Ukraine's Defense Forces Introduce Updated Military Contracts
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's top military commander, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has unveiled three new categories of service contracts for the country's Armed Forces, each with clearly defined durations and conditions. These changes, made possible by a decision from the Cabinet of Ministers, are designed to modernize military service and address current operational needs amid the ongoing conflict.
Contract Categories
-
Infantry-Assault Contract:
- Duration: 14 months for civilians;
- 10 months for active service members;
- From 6 months for those who have been discharged.
A key feature of this contract is that each month served in combat positions earns three months of deferment, as highlighted by Oleksandr Syrskyi.
-
Combat Contract:
Length: 24 months. This option targets operators of unmanned systems, artillery personnel, and electronic warfare specialists.
-
Basic Contract:
Also set at 24 months, covering other roles, with the possibility of serving in rear-area positions.
All three contract types guarantee a minimum deferment period of six months, allowing service members to better plan their commitments. Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the first phase of this transformation in the military service system, underscoring the importance of these adjustments for the nation's defense forces in the face of current challenges.
The introduction of these new contracts is part of a broader strategy to enhance military service in Ukraine during the protracted armed conflict. The goal is not only to improve conditions for soldiers but also to boost the effectiveness of combat missions. The specified terms and conditions aim to ensure stability within the ranks and attract specialists in critical fields, which is essential for maintaining the country's defense capacity.
