Bavaria buys a new stadium for the women's team
Six-time Champions League winners Bayern Munich have decided to invest in a new stadium to increase attendance for their women's team. The team, which became the champion of the Bundesliga this year, plans to spend £6.5 million on the Sportpark Unterhaching stadium, located in the southwest of Munich. The arena, which holds 15,000 spectators, will be transformed into a new home for Bayern's women's team.“This step opens up new opportunities for our team,”the club's statement reads.The construction of the new stadium signals a growing attention to women's football in Germany.
