Skeleton athlete Geraskevich explained why the NOC of Ukraine ignored his historic success.
Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladislav Geraskevich criticized the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine for not congratulating him on his fourth place at the World Championship. Geraskevich believes this indicates that the organization values personal relationships more than the development of sports. He also noted that greetings and support from journalists of major media outlets are much more beneficial for the development of skeleton in Ukraine than congratulations from the NOC.
Geraskevich is glad that skeleton is becoming increasingly popular in Ukraine. He noted that this sport is developing, and new athletes and coaches are joining the team. Geraskevich highlighted the achievements of Yaroslav Lavrenyuk and emphasized their great value. For him, support from journalists and the development of new specialists is more important than congratulations from the NOC.
The skeleton athlete also has his own views on the citizenship change of gymnast Illia Kovtun. He expressed surprise that the athlete and his coach received significant financial support from the state budget but decided to leave their homeland. Geraskevich considers this a disgraceful act and points out that many people share his opinion.
