Snooker star enters politics
According to The Sun: Former snooker star changes fields: James Wattana, who reached third place in the world rankings at the age of 55, has now decided to try his hand in politics. He has reached the semifinals of the World Championship twice and has set the record of 147 points three times.
Wattana triumphed in the finals of the tournament in Thailand, defeating snooker legends such as Ronnie O'Sullivan and Steve Davis. Now he aims to pursue a political career by participating in the general elections.
“I have always wanted to serve my country, and this is a great opportunity for me”- he noted in his address.
James Wattana is not the first athlete to decide to engage in political activities. His step may serve as an example for other athletes who wish to influence the development of society. Much will depend on his program and promises, as well as how he can turn his sports success into political success.
