Luca Brecel defeated Jimmy White at the English Open: match details.
Luca Brecel outplayed Jimmy White at the English Open
According to The Sun: Luca Brecel won the match against Jimmy White 4-1, although the game did not live up to expectations.
Both players are prominent figures in the world of snooker and have a similar approach to the game.
instagramDespite a 33-year age gap, the match generated a lot of pre-match anticipation.
However, the game turned out to be quite dull, and the match started early in the morning at the Brentwood Leisure Centre.
Brecel, a former world champion, arrived from Belgium in a luxurious Porsche.
He was so calm that he even managed to take a photo charging his electric car in London 90 minutes before the match began.
The 30-year-old Belgian dominated the field, but the game was of rather low quality: the maximum break was only 95 points in the final frame.
Six-time World Championship finalist Jimmy White, aged 63, managed to win one frame but could not continue in the tournament.
Brecel will now face Iranian Hossein Vafaei in the last 32 of this ranking event.
He has now dropped to 41st in the world rankings and risks losing his tour card next May after a strange few years following his World Championship victory in 2023.
The athlete actually took a long break after the championship in April, missing many tournaments due to health issues.
Brecel also withdrew from the qualifiers for the Wuhan and British Opens, as well as the league championship.
He surprised everyone by conceding a match after just two frames last week when he cited the need to borrow cues.
Outside of the snooker table, Brecel leads a stylish life and spends money on several supercars after winning the World Championship.
He regularly shares photos with his girlfriend Shauni Demuyter.
