Scholz reported how much money for military aid to Ukraine is provided in the FRG budget.
Germany plans to continue providing military support to Ukraine both from its own budget and together with G7 partners. This was stated by FRG Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The draft budget for next year includes bilateral military support to Ukraine in the amount of 4 billion euros. In addition, together with G7 countries, it will provide a loan of 50 billion dollars. This should ensure reliable financial support.
According to the chancellor, the loan will be covered by profits from frozen assets of the Russian central bank. Scholz emphasized that this is not an easy task, but it can be done. Representatives of all interested countries are now actively working on the conditions of this mechanism. The chancellor also assured that Germany will continue to provide financial, economic, political, and military support to Ukraine as long as necessary.
Regarding the transfer of new types of weapons to Ukraine, including long-range missiles, no decisions have been made yet. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier informed Olaf Scholz about the country's needs in armored vehicles and air defense.
