The new Manchester United goalkeeper scored a goal in the youth Champions League: video.
Reaction of Manchester United fans
According to The Sun: Manchester United fans were thrilled to see the footage of goalkeeper Senne Lamens scoring an important goal.
This Belgian goalkeeper joined Ruben Amorim's team for 18 million pounds on transfer deadline day, moving from Royal Antwerp.
Lamens is now set to become the starting goalkeeper, as Andre Onana has been relegated to the bench.
Lamens' attacking possibilities
However, the 23-year-old may have a new role in attack, as Manchester United is struggling to score goals.
New forward Benjamin Sesko, who cost 74 million pounds, has yet to impress fans with his scoring.
Although Lamens is a goalkeeper, he shows good intuition on the field.
At 17, he played for the Club Brugge reserve team in a group stage match of the UEFA Youth League against Real Madrid. The Belgian team needed to win to advance to the playoffs.
In the last seconds of the match, the team was losing 1-2. But at the last moment, Lamens capitalized on a corner, ventured out of his penalty area, and scored with a header, directing the ball into Real's net.

“We solved the issues with our attack and goalkeeping,” noted one fan.
“Better than our goalkeepers who score own goals,” added another.
“He and Maguire in attack with 10 minutes to go,” was another remark.
“Bro plays the role of 'fox in the box' better than a certain Gyokeres,” expressed another fan.
With such a start after still disappointing results, Lamens could become a key figure for Manchester United if the team plans to improve its attacking play. Fans hope that similar moments become more frequent in upcoming matches and inspire the team to victories.
