Sunflower oil will become 'golden': Ukrainians warned about a sharp price spike.
According to inkorr.com: Ukrainians may soon witness a significant increase in prices for sunflower oil. Over the past two weeks, it has risen by 10 hryvnias per kilogram, resulting in a 50 hryvnia increase in the cost of a bottle of oil. In the coming weeks, the price of this product may reach 100 hryvnias. This disappointing information is reported by 'Hvylya', citing ITV.
Reasons for the price increase
Sunflower oil has always been one of the most popular products in Ukraine. It is used for cooking, dressing salads, and preserving. However, this autumn it may become a true rarity due to a harvest shortage caused by unfavorable weather conditions and drought. The rise in prices is also supported by increased transportation costs for the oil and high demand for Ukrainian products in foreign markets.
Traders emphasize that prices have risen, and already now a bottle of this oil can be purchased for 50-60 hryvnias more than before.
Impact on consumers
Farmers note that sunflowers require natural irrigation, and this year moisture is limited due to a lack of precipitation. Crop losses will certainly affect the prices of this everyday product.
Consumers are already feeling the changes in prices and are looking for ways to cope with the increase. Some are stockpiling oil, others are switching to more economical alternatives or buying smaller quantities.
While further increases in sunflower oil prices are anticipated, experts assure that there will be no shortage in the market. It is important for buyers to approach their purchases wisely and avoid panic that could lead to artificially inflated demand.
Ukrainians should be prepared for a rapid increase in sunflower oil prices due to a limited harvest and rising demand in international markets. Consumers are advised to plan their purchases rationally and seek optimal options to avoid extra costs.
