The USA warned Ukraine about imminent defeat: details of talks in Kyiv.
According to ТСН: The US Secretary of the Army, Special Representative for promoting the peace plan, Dan Driscoll, warned Ukrainian officials about an 'imminent defeat' as Ukraine is going through difficult times on the battlefield, while the Russian Federation is capable of waging war 'indefinitely'.
This information was announced during his visit to Kyiv last week, according to NBC News.
The situation on the battlefield
Driscoll noted that Russian troops have intensified air attacks, and their military machinery allows the Kremlin to fight almost without limitations. In this regard, he believes that the situation for Ukraine will only worsen. According to him, Ukraine should consider the possibility of a peaceful settlement now to avoid finding itself in an even more difficult position in the future.
Arms supply
The Special Representative also noted that the American defense industry is unable to provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons and means of air defense to protect infrastructure and civilians.
'The message was, in essence, this: you will lose, and you need to accept an agreement.'
Driscoll visited Kyiv to present the American 'peace plan', which consists of 28 points. After negotiations between the USA and Ukraine in Geneva on November 23, the plan underwent significant changes. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that after these negotiations, the 'peace plan' became 'viable', and the number of points was reduced.
Driscoll's comments emphasize concern about the military situation in Ukraine and potential difficulties in the future. Optimizing the peace process and attempts to find a compromise are becoming increasingly relevant as fighting continues, and support from Western partners is critically important for the Ukrainian side.
