CAS will consider appeals regarding the exclusion of Israeli gymnasts from the World Championship
According to inkorr.com: The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has accepted two appeals related to the exclusion of Israeli gymnasts from the world championship taking place in Jakarta. The Indonesian authorities refused to issue visas for these athletes to participate in the competition.
“CAS confirms that the Israeli Gymnastics Federation has filed two appeals with the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding the composition of the delegation at the World Championship in Jakarta...”
CAS announced that a decision on the appeals will be made between October 13 and 14. Meanwhile, Russian freestyler Anastasia Tatalina has appealed to the International Ski Federation to allow her to compete in the 2026 Olympic Games.
“I represent Russia, and I was proud when President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin) sent me a telegram after my victory at the World Championship,” Tatalina stated.
It is worth noting that Tatalina is a member of the Russian military club CSKA, an organization that is directly linked to Russia's military activities in Ukraine.
The submission of Israeli gymnasts to CAS and the appeal process opens a discussion about athletes' participation in international competitions and the possible political aspects of this issue. At the same time, the aspiration of the Russian athlete to participate in future Olympic Games draws additional attention from viewers and experts to events in the sports world.
