USA does not need a war in the Middle East - expert.

The United States of America, through diplomatic channels, is trying to contain the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and prevent it from escalating into a full-scale war between Israel and Iran and their proxies.

This opinion was expressed on the air of the FREEДОМ TV channel by the director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Igor Semivolos.

"I think the Americans will do everything possible to prevent the situation from escalating into a big war. Americans do not need a war, so they are making tremendous efforts," Semivolos is convinced.

At the moment, the United States and other countries are negotiating to persuade Iran not to attack Israel in response to the assassination of Hamas terrorist group leader Ismail Haniyeh on July 31 in Tehran. Iran believes that Israel is behind this.

"The delay in the strike is a serious problem. The anticipation of death is worse than the death itself. Israel and the Americans are forced to keep large forces on alert. In this regard, Iran has advantages and is trying to take advantage of it. They simultaneously threaten a strike and negotiate. These are parts of a big game in which Iran actively uses force and diplomacy," the expert stated.

Semivolos believes that if the situation in the Middle East remains at approximately the current level, the geopolitical changes will be insignificant. At present, the main task is to reach an agreement between Hamas and Israel regarding the Gaza Strip. The USA, Egypt, and Qatar are invited to these negotiations.

However, the agreement contains many complexities. The problem lies not only with Hamas but also with the position of Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, who complicates the agreement by setting new conditions. Barricades are set up between the military and the prime minister. Netanyahu even accuses the military of anti-Israel sentiments and a lack of desire for victory. These discussions are very active.

Semivolos summed up: "Under combat conditions, Israel will not be able to cope independently with a massive strike. Therefore, the role of the United States is very important. But Israel must listen to the words of the Americans and follow their desire to prevent a large conflict in the Middle East".
