The USA supports the EU plan regarding $217 billion of Russian assets: the goal is Ukraine's victory
The USA fully supports the European Union's plan to use frozen Russian assets as a tool to support Ukraine and end the war with Russia, reports Reuters citing an American source familiar with the situation.

European Commission Plan

According to inkorr.com: The European Commission has proposed an initiative that allows EU member states to use up to 185 billion euros (217 billion dollars) — the majority of the 210 billion euros of frozen Russian assets currently held in Europe. It is noted that these assets will not be confiscated but will be used through an alternative mechanism. This support from Washington comes against the backdrop of efforts by the West to increase pressure on Moscow and provide additional financial assistance to Ukraine in its confrontation with Russian aggression.

Support from the USA

The use of frozen Russian assets allows the EU, together with the USA, to expand support for Ukraine and increase pressure on the aggressor. The governments of EU countries are granted the right to direct substantial amounts from these assets to support a peaceful resolution to the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

The European Union's plan, supported by the USA, could become an important step in financial assistance to Ukraine, especially in the context of the ongoing war. The use of frozen assets not only underscores international solidarity with the Ukrainian population but also demonstrates the readiness of Western countries to find new ways to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity.
