The US Space Force is creating a team to work on the idea of developing a missile defense system for the US called 'Iron Dome'. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.

It is noted that the team of Space Force experts has already begun evaluating its current programs that could contribute to the implementation of President Trump's initiative 'Iron Dome for America', as well as determining which programs will require further development.

According to the information from the publication, the initiative has officially been renamed to 'Iron Dome'.

It is expected that the team will be able to complete its work within a few weeks.

It is noted that the beginning of the development of plans for the implementation of this initiative was laid by Pentagon officials after President Trump issued his directive on the necessity of creating a next-generation missile defense to protect the US from airborne attacks.

The Missile Defense System being developed by the US envisions the use of interceptor missiles placed in space, which will be equipped with lasers to neutralize nuclear weapons.
