The USA and China could create a new C5 alliance: Europe is not on the list

According to ТСН: The US administration is discussing the possibility of creating a new alliance of countries involving China and Russia, which could serve as an alternative to the G7.

An official who previously worked in the White House noted that the concept of the C5 alliance, which would include the US, China, India, Japan, and Russia, is no longer surprising anyone.

"Nothing regarding C5 or C7 has been officially discussed, but there have certainly been talks about the fact that existing bodies such as the G7 or the UN Security Council do not fit their functions, considering today's new players."

The idea of forming a C5 has appeared in the updated version of the National Security Strategy recently released by the White House.

"The White House categorically denied the existence of the document, and White House spokesperson Anna Kelly added that there is no alternative, private, or secret version of the 33-page official plan."

Tori Tausig, former director for European affairs at the National Security Council during President Joe Biden's term, emphasized that Europe is not included in the possible C5 alliance.

Michael Sobolik, former aide to Senator Ted Cruz, also views C5 as an alternative to Trump's policy towards China.

Discussions about creating C5 have intensified following differences between Trump and European leaders regarding peace negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.

It should be noted that the G7, which currently consists of the largest economies in the world: the USA, Japan, Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and Canada, previously included Russia, but was expelled after the annexation of Crimea.

The USA, together with Russia, opposed Ukraine at the UN General Assembly.

In light of changes in global politics, the initiative to create C5 could have serious implications for international relations. The situation around the war in Ukraine and the positions of key players indicate that the global security architecture is facing new challenges. The further development of events in this direction could significantly affect the economic and political situation in the world.
