Ukraine First Named the Developer of the Cruise Missile 'Palyanytsia': It is KB 'Luch'.
According to ТСН: Ukraine officially presented the developer of the cruise missile 'Palyanytsia' for the first time — it is the State Kyiv Design Bureau 'Luch'. This was reported by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.
At a meeting with his Norwegian colleague and representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry, Sibiga received a model of the 'Palyanytsia' missile from the director of KB 'Luch', Oleg Korostylyov.
'It was especially pleasant to receive a model of the missile 'Palyanytsia' from the director of KB 'Luch', Oleg Korostylyov, as a symbol of our joint commitment to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities through strategic partnership,' he wrote.
What We Know About 'Palyanytsia'
The name 'Palyanytsia' was first mentioned on August 24, 2024, but technical details remained secret until 2025 when more information about the missile appeared at the MSPO international defense industry exhibition in Poland.
The main tactical and technical characteristics of the missile are:
- Flight range: up to 650 km (allows striking targets deep in enemy territory).
- Warhead: 100 kg.
- Launch weight: 320 kg.
- Dimensions: length — 3.5 m, wingspan — 1.7 m.
The missile is equipped with a combined navigation system that includes an inertial system and satellite correction, ensuring high accuracy of strikes.
Aviation expert Valery Romanenko emphasized that the Ukrainian drone-missile 'Palyanytsia' could pose a serious threat to enemy aviation. He noted that the device is equipped with a jet engine and navigation systems that allow its use over long distances.
Romanenko also mentioned the possibility of using 'Palyanytsia' to attack enemy airfields. In particular, the missile with a concrete-penetrating warhead can destroy runways, creating traps for planes that have not yet taken off, and complicating the rapid restoration of infrastructure.
With the emergence of the new missile, Ukraine continues to strengthen its defense capabilities, incorporating modern technologies into its weapon systems. The development of 'Palyanytsia' underscores the potential of the Ukrainian defense industry and its ability to respond to new security challenges.
