According to Espreso.tv: The logo and visual identity for the 4th European Games have been introduced. Scheduled to take place in Istanbul from June 16 to 27, 2027, this event is set to be a major milestone for the sporting world, especially for athletes across Europe. Around 7,500 competitors are expected to participate, vying for medals across 26 sports—22 of which are Olympic disciplines. In total, 334 medal sets will be awarded.

Why These Games Matter

A major incentive for participants is the chance to earn 122 quota spots for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. This makes the 4th European Games more than just a showcase of athletic talent; it serves as a critical stepping stone on the road to the Olympics.

For context, the 3rd European Games were held in Kraków in 2023, where Ukraine competed in 28 sports, with 253 medal sets up for grabs, and finished in the top three of the medal standings.
