Prospects of Steven Gerrard's return

According to The Sun: Steven Gerrard received an offer to move to the Welsh club 'Wrexham' after he turned down a return to 'Ibrox'.

Gerrard began his management career at 'Rangers' in 2018, where he spent three years and won the championship title unbeaten in 2021.

After 'Rangers' he signed a contract with 'Aston Villa', but his stay there turned out to be unsuccessful, and he was fired in less than a year.

After a short break, Gerrard joined 'Al Ettifaq', but there he also failed to show bright results, leaving the club in January this year.

His name was actively discussed as a potential candidate for a return to Glasgow after the dismissal of Russell Martin, who could not withstand the pressure due to a poor start to the season.

The Scot was fired after only 123 days, winning just one league match.

But Gerrard, 45, turned down this offer last weekend.

“Next on the list, according to Betfair odds, is the club 'Wrexham', which has become a real Hollywood story in the Championship.”

The Welsh club has rapidly risen through the league system since actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds bought it in 2021.

Although 'Wrexham' brilliantly qualified for League One at the first attempt, it is more difficult in the championship.

Under the guidance of coach Phil Parkinson, the club has only managed two wins and ten points in nine matches this season.

Odds on Gerrard's next club

For a club that is actively working on its image, Gerrard's appeal may play a crucial role if they decide to change coaches. The odds for his move are 4/1.

Wrexham 4/1

Norwich 6/1

Southampton 8/1

Sheffield United 10/1

Burnley 12/1

Wolverhampton, Aston Villa 14/1

Nottingham Forest 16/1

Celtic 25/1

So, Gerrard's return to management remains in question. He now seems interested in seeking new opportunities; however, his decision means that the path to 'Wrexham' is closed. Observers eagerly await the next steps from both Gerrard and the 'Wrexham' club, which seeks to improve its results in the championship.
