Britons have found a cheap way to combat window fogging: the results are impressive.
An effective way to fight condensation
According to The Sun: Families in the UK can easily get rid of condensation on their windows, spending less than £1 by using shaving foam from Aldi.
Condensation problems usually arise in the autumn when cold air from outside meets the warmth inside, leaving windows damp and promoting mold growth.
Author Julia Cook tried this method and rated it five stars.Although traditional methods, such as dehumidifiers and moisture-absorbing strips, are effective, we have found one unconventional and cost-effective method.
Aldi's shaving foam, costing 95 pence, has proven to be a superb remedy for fighting condensation.
The method, while it can be messy, is simple: just generously spray the foam on the windows and leave it overnight.
For Julia Cook, this cheap option turned out to be even more effective than a dehumidifier and moisture-absorbing strips.
“When my husband caught me spraying his shaving foam on the windows, he asked: 'What are you doing?'
“I explained that this was a trick I saw online, which reportedly works better than any other product on the market to prevent condensation.
“After I checked my husband’s toiletries and found a can of foam for 79 pence, I generously applied (perhaps too much) it to the windows.
“I went to sleep and when I woke up, I was amazed.
“There was no condensation. Absolutely no droplets. The foam did its job. I couldn't wipe away any moisture except for cleaning the leftover foam.
“And it costs less than £1 for a can – which will easily last a week or more – this is a hit I can definitely agree with.”
The shaving foam contains surfactants that reduce surface tension on the glass, making it harder for water droplets to form.
This method is gaining popularity among households in the UK due to its effectiveness.
However, it is worth remembering that this trick is not a long-term solution.
Those with serious condensation issues should invest in a dehumidifier for consistent results.
