Fines for unregistered televisions and radios in Poland
According to inkorr.com: In Poland, many citizens do not comply with the requirement for mandatory registration of televisions and radios. By law, these devices must be registered within 14 days of purchase. In case of violations, owners can receive fines: 819 zlotys for a television and 261 zlotys for a radio.
If the device is not actually used - the mere fact of ownership is sufficient.
Registration can be done at the Polish Post offices or online. After registration, the user receives an individual identification number and a bill for the payment of the subscription fee. The fee must be paid even if the device is not used.
Categories of citizens exempt from payment
Military veterans, service members, and their family members may be exempt from the fee. To obtain this benefit, an official declaration must be submitted to the Polish Post.
Poland has introduced fines for unregistered televisions and radios; however, exemptions are only possible if the device is not actually used. Military veterans and their families have the opportunity to submit a declaration to the postal service to receive an exemption from payment. Such measures once again highlight the importance of complying with existing legislation and the fair use of resources.Read also
