“The law clearly defines the amount of responsibility: if the insurance exists, but the paper version is absent, and the data is entered into the MTSBU database - the fine will be 425 UAH; if the policy is not arranged at all - the penalty increases to 850 UAH.”

Experts emphasize that having OСЦПВ ensures the financial safety of the driver. In the case of a traffic accident, the insurance company covers the costs of damages. However, if the policy is not arranged, all costs will fall on the guilty party, which can severely impact their finances.

Digital Documents in the 'Diia' Application

The number of drivers using digital documents in the 'Diia' application is constantly increasing. Usually, they show their driver's license or technical passport there if the paper versions are absent. However, the OСЦПВ policy in 'Diia' does not always appear, so experts recommend checking its validity in the MTSBU database or having an electronic copy in the insurance company's application.

Insurance for New and Imported Cars

There is a myth that new or imported cars do not require insurance. For such cases, short-term policies for 10-15 days are provided, which are valid until the standard annual OСЦПВ contract is signed. Experts advise against delaying the insurance arrangement and always having electronic copies of documents to avoid fines during police checks.

Moreover, it is worth remembering that medical certificates for drivers will soon become electronic when the new service is launched.
