Rapid increase in egg prices in Ukraine: what is behind the sharp rise.
Egg prices in Ukraine rose by 60% in October, reports the press service of the ATB supermarket chain. The cost of eggs increased from 40-45 UAH per dozen to 50-75 UAH. According to producers, this is due to the increase in the cost of feed, energy, and other expenses. Sergiy Karpenko, Executive Director of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine, explains that egg prices are seasonal and usually the lowest in spring-summer. With the onset of cold weather, demand increases, and supply decreases, which leads to rising prices. The expert also notes that production costs have increased due to the rise in the cost of feed and materials, but production has already returned to its previous level. It is not yet possible to predict further price dynamics, but prices are still lower than last year.
