Strongman Novikov sets new world record.


Ukrainian iron athlete Oleksiy Novikov broke the world record by lifting 550 kg in the 18-inch deadlift during the World Cup in Barcelona. Novikov also became the tournament champion, while Valeriy Gazayev took third place. The women's wrestling team of Ukraine finished second in the team standings at the European Championship (U23) and won five medals, including one gold, two silver, and two bronze. The men's freestyle wrestling team of Ukraine finished third in the team standings, earning five awards - one silver and four bronze. The national kudo team of Ukraine became the overall winner in the team standings at the European Championship for juniors and younger juniors in Lithuania, winning eight awards.
