Finland urges Europe to strengthen support for Ukraine in its war with Russia.
According to inkorr.com: The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, has urged European countries to provide support to Ukraine in its fight against Russia's hybrid attacks. In an interview with the Associated Press, he emphasized that the war in Ukraine could drag on, so it is important not to reduce assistance to Kyiv.
Hopes for dialogue
Stubb expressed hope for the start of a dialogue by next spring, although he does not expect that a quick ceasefire or peace negotiations can be achieved this year. He also recalled Finland's historical experience in wars with Russia, which influenced the country's shift in course and its accession to NATO after Russia's aggression in Ukraine.
'If he accepts at least one of ten ideas - that would already be good,' the politician added regarding U.S. President Donald Trump.
Support for Ukraine
Stubb backed new sanctions against the companies 'Lukoil' and 'Rosneft', calling for increased support for Ukraine in this struggle.
It is worth noting that earlier the President of Finland also spoke about a possible meeting between Volodymyr Zelensky and Vladimir Putin concerning efforts to resolve the conflict in the Donbas.
Stubb's statements emphasize the importance of international support for Ukraine amid ongoing aggression. Involvement of European countries and new efforts on the diplomatic front may be key to overcoming the current crisis and stabilizing the situation in the region.
