Finnish President Alexander Stubbs stated that during peace negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, European partners must uphold the 'red lines'. He supported the idea that the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO cannot be excluded. The president noted that Finland maintained its independence during World War II but lost sovereignty in choosing foreign political alliances. He also emphasized two 'red lines': Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO.

President Stubbs pointed out: 'There are two red lines regarding which there can be no discussion - these are Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO'. He added that the Ukrainian side is already conducting accession negotiations and 'at a certain stage, Ukraine will become a NATO member'.

It has been confirmed earlier that there will be an emergency summit in Paris on the topic of the war in Ukraine.
