Changes in Quorn's product range

According to The Sun: The popular brand Quorn has announced significant changes to its frozen product line. The company has decided to eliminate artificial ingredients, and consumers are reacting positively to this news.

Quorn is used in various vegetarian products, including pies from GreggsGreggs

Since its establishment in 1985, Quorn has been offering meat-free dishes made from mycoprotein. Now, the company has announced important changes that will affect all their frozen products.

Elimination of artificial ingredients

All Quorn frozen products now contain no artificial ingredients. The company has decided to remove sodium alginate — a preservative derived from seaweed. Although it is generally considered safe, it can cause gastrointestinal issues in some individuals.

A Quorn representative shared this on Facebook:

“So yes, they remain just as juicy and delicious, but now completely free of artificial ingredients. The packaging now has a new look! High in protein, a source of fiber — they cook in 18 minutes, so it's a real find for dinner!”

Consumers are enthusiastically reacting to the innovations, leaving positive comments.

One user wrote: “Oh, I just tried them with pasta. They are really delicious.” Another added: “Tasty.” However, some consumers expressed regret that not all products are vegan. In response, Quorn assured that they are working on new options.

New recipes

The company also shared several new recipes. With Quorn products, you can quickly prepare a delicious massaman curry in just 15 minutes or Japanese noodles like yaki soba.

Quorn has been popular since 1985Supplied

Return of the Vegan Steak Bake at Greggs

This news comes against the backdrop of the popular bakery Greggs announcing the return of the beloved Vegan Steak Bake, which was previously replaced with other plant-based products.

Since the launch of the vegan sausage roll in 2019, customers have eagerly visited Greggs to try the new offering. Now, the range of vegan products has expanded, and the Vegan Steak Bake has become one of the favorite items on the shelves. This snack consists of pieces of Quorn, onions, and sauce, wrapped in flaky golden pastry. However, the product has now received a new name — Vegan Lattice.

The brand stated:

“It is still incredibly delicious, just with a different name. Tasty tasteless pieces mixed with chopped onions and vegan sauce — it’s a real find.”

The Quorn company actively responds to consumer requests, simplifying digestion and improving its product range, while Greggs continues to delight its visitors with new vegan dishes. Such changes may indicate a growing demand for products free from artificial additives and vegan alternatives in Ukraine and around the world.
