Sweden has handed over special vehicles to Ukraine: which communities will receive assistance.
According to inkorr.com: Sweden, in cooperation with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, has transferred five vehicles equipped with special equipment to Ukraine. This will improve the efficiency of local authorities in providing mobile administrative and social services.
According to information from the Ministry of Development, the new vehicles have already been provided to Sumy, Myrgorod (Poltava region), Oleksandriisk (Kirovohrad region), Korop (Chernihiv region), and the Kherson regional military administration.
Support for communities in frontline territories
These vehicles and equipment will be used for outreach servicing of internally displaced persons and veterans, as well as for providing public and social services in frontline and remote, sparsely populated areas.
“This assistance is extremely important for people living in those localities that are most affected by the challenges of war. We must ensure the provision of basic public services also for those living far from administrative centers. I express my sincere gratitude to the people of Sweden for their unwavering support for Ukraine. We feel it at all levels: from strategic partnership to specific projects that are changing people's lives in communities,”emphasized Deputy Minister Oleksii Riabikin.
Mobile service project competition for communities
As part of the competition for mobile service projects for communities from the Polaris Program, which lasted from August 15 to September 3, 2025, 166 applications were submitted by local self-government bodies from 12 regions. The competition took place in three stages, based on the results of which 16 potential recipients were selected: 9 in the first priority group and 7 in the second, according to the volume of available resources of the Program.
Oleksii Riabikin also met with Sida’s General Director Jakob Granit to discuss further cooperation. The project is being implemented within the partnership of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine with the Polaris Program “Support for Multi-Level Governance”, funded by the Government of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and implemented by SALAR International from 2024 to 2028.
Thus, Ukraine has received five vehicles from Sweden equipped with special equipment, which will help improve the provision of mobile administrative and social services, especially in frontline areas and sparsely populated regions.
