Sweden reallocates budget for additional support for Ukraine.

The Swedish government plans to allocate 1.7 billion Swedish kronor (about $155 million) to support Ukraine and humanitarian initiatives in 2025. This was announced by Sweden's Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Bengt Dusa.

According to Dusa, this decision was made due to the instability in global security and the reduction of American aid. Sweden, while unable to compensate for all losses, plans to support Ukraine and other countries in difficult conditions.

'Supporting Ukraine and neighboring regions is important for Europe. Ukraine is our main priority in aid and foreign policy. To counter Russia, which does not hesitate to shell playgrounds, hospitals, schools, and houses, increased support is needed. Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom but also for the freedom of Europe.'

Funds will be redistributed within geographical and thematic aid programs, but Ukraine and the surrounding regions remain a priority for Sweden. The government promised to make all changes responsibly, without violating existing agreements.
