Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina progressed to the 1/8 finals of the Australian Open 2025.
In the 3rd round, the Ukrainian managed to defeat the fourth-ranked player in the world, Jasmine Paolini (Italy), in three sets.

This was the first meeting between the competitors. In the second set, the Ukrainian significantly improved her game, while Paolini began to make more unforced errors.
Svitolina will compete against 'neutral' Veronika Kudermetova (WTA 75) for a place in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
