Tetiana Mykolaivna Chernovol - Member of Parliament of Ukraine from the VIII election cycle, journalist.
Place of Birth. Education. Born in Kyiv. Graduated in 2001 from the Faculty of Journalism at the Kyiv International Institute of Linguistics and Law.
Career. At the age of 17, Tetiana Chernovol participated in the activities of UNA-UNSO and later became the spokesperson for the organization (on a voluntary basis). During a 'Ukraine Without Kuchma' action to protest the imprisonment of UNA-UNSO members, she and a friend chained themselves to the tracks at the railway station in Kyiv. After the 'Ukraine Without Kuchma' campaign, UNA-UNSO held talks with the government, which Chernovol perceived as a betrayal of the principles and left the organization.
From 1998 to 2001, Chernovol was the head of the information center of the Itchkerya Republic in Kyiv, founded with the support of Aslan Maskhadov. In 2000, she published several reports from Chechnya.
1999-2000 - journalist for the magazine Kompjanyon.
2001-2004 - journalist for the magazine Politics and Culture.
2005-2009 - Chernovol focused on investigative journalism, published in the magazine Obosrewatel. In 2006, she began her first groundbreaking investigation into the Mezhyhirya residence.
Since 2010 - LLC Kyiv Institute of Administrative Problems after Hortschenin, journalist, managing editor of the portal Lb.ua.
Member of the civic movement Stop-Censorship.
In the 2012 parliamentary elections, Tetiana Chernovol ran for the Ukrainian Parliament in district No. 120. Nominated by the Batkivshchyna party, Tetiana Chernovol lost the election, finishing second in the district behind Yaroslav Dubnewych.
On March 5, 2014, the government appointed Tetiana Chernovol as the government commissioner for issues of anti-corruption policy. The relevant decree was signed by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
On August 18, 2014, Tetiana Chernovol announced that she wanted to resign from her position. The reason was the failure of a number of anti-corruption initiatives and the death of her husband.

On September 10, 2014, Tetiana Chernovol was included in the political council of the Narodny Front party along with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko, former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy, deputies Vyacheslav Kyrylenko and Lilia Hrynevych, led by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov.
In the 2014 elections, she was elected to the Ukrainian Parliament through the lists of the Narodny Front party. Member of the parliamentary committee on national security and defense.
Participated in the early parliamentary elections in 2019 as a candidate from the European Solidarity party, but her list position (No. 27) was unsuccessful.
Views. On August 24, 2012, Tetiana Chernovol broke into the Mezhyhirya territory at around two in the afternoon, where she spent about three hours until she was detained by the security service. During this time, the journalist took several photos with her mobile phone, which were later published on the internet. The aim of the action was to show that 'fences are nothing, no fence can protect the enemies of Ukraine from an enraged people'.
On August 16, 2013, Tetiana Chernovol, along with Igor Lutsenko, Yehor Soboliev, Oleksandr Marchenko, and Oleksiy Herman (the Wolya initiative) entered the Kyiv City Council session hall to protest against the council meeting scheduled for August 19, which had expired on June 2. Tetiana Chernovol remained on the ledge of the city council until she was taken down by civil defense staff. This led to two fines for Chernovol: 130 UAH for disobedience to the police and 113 UAH for public disturbance.
She actively participated in the Euromaidan. On December 25, 2013, Tetiana Chernovol was brutally beaten by unknown individuals near Kyiv. Many, including the victim, associate this incident with her professional activities. On December 28, five suspects of the beating were arrested.
Family. Chernovol's husband, Mykola Berezovyi, who volunteered in the Azov battalion, died on August 10, 2014, during the anti-terror operation. The marriage produced a daughter, Ivanna (born 2003) and a son, Ustym (born 2010).
