Jennifer Joanna Aniston is an American actress, producer, and director known for her work in film, television, and voice acting.
She is best known for her role as Rachel Green on the television series 'Friends' (1994-2004), for which she won the 'Emmy' award (2002) and the 'Golden Globe' (2003) for 'Best Actress in a Comedy Series', as well as the 'Screen Actors Guild Award' (1996) for 'Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series' (along with Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer).
Birthplace. Education. Aniston was born on February 11, 1969, in Sherman Oaks (California, USA) to the American actor of Greek descent John Aniston and Nancy Dow, an actress of Scottish and Italian roots. Jennifer has two brothers - John Melick (older) and Alex Aniston (younger). Aniston’s godfather is the Greek-American actor Telly Savalas, a close friend of her father. Her grandfather (surname Anastasakis) immigrated to the USA from Greece and became a restaurant owner.

Aniston studied at a Steiner school in New York City. Her acting talent emerged in the school drama club. It was in this school that her artistic abilities also developed.
