In 2016, an incident occurred that became a turning point. Reports indicate that while flying on a private plane, Brad had an altercation with his son, Maddox. According to Angelina, it was not just an argument but aggressive behavior on Pitt's part. Although the subsequent investigation did not confirm the allegations of violence, this event severely damaged the actor's reputation and his relationship with his family.

Jolie insisted on full custody of the children, limiting Pitt's contact with them. The legal battles lasted several years, and only in 2021 did Brad receive joint custody. Nevertheless, his relationships with the children, especially the adopted ones, remained tense.

After the divorce, Pitt's relationship with his children changed significantly. After the divorce, he admitted to having issues with alcohol, which, he claims, was one of the reasons for the family breakdown. Brad underwent rehabilitation and completely quit his bad habits, but restoring trust with his children proved difficult.

Close family sources claim that Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne are more loyal to their father, but their communication is also limited. Jolie continues to control the children's contacts with Brad, believing it is in their best interest.
