In 2010, she defended her doctoral dissertation in law.

Career. From 2000 to 2010, she progressed from lecturer to Deputy Director of the law institute, Associate Professor at Kyiv International University.

From 2010, she worked at the State Scientific Research Institute of Customs Affairs as Deputy Head of the Department for Legal Issues of Customs. Advisor to the Customs Service, rank 3.

From 2013 to 2020, she taught at the National School of Judges of Ukraine in the field of criminal qualifications of aggression wars and other crimes committed in combat zones. Developed a concept for the legal assessment of events in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine, used in investigative and court practice.

Since 2018, she has been a trainer for security and defense departments for strategic communication. Specialized in 'Information operations as an element of crimes that threaten national security and peace. She completed training in negotiations in armed conflicts and received a certificate from the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael.

Since 2020, she has been an external consultant for the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on issues of national security, defense, and intelligence.

On August 4, 2021, she was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine by the Cabinet.

On September 18, 2023, the Cabinet dismissed Anna Malyar from her position as Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

Scientific Work. Author of over 40 scientific papers. Co-author of draft laws.

Scientific interests - crimes against the foundations of national security, crimes against peace, the safety of humanity and the international legal order, strategic communication during hybrid wars.

Family. Married, has one son.
