Julia Vladimirovna Mendel - spokesperson for the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky (2019-2021).

Julia Vladimirovna Mendel was born on September 3, 1986, in Henichesk, in the Kherson region. She studied at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where she earned her candidate degree in philological sciences. She also graduated from the Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Academy (WEASA).

Julia Mendel completed internships abroad as part of the Lech Wałęsa Solidarity Program.

For some time, she worked at ICTV, Espresso TV, 112 Ukraine, and Inter television channels.

In 2016, Julia Mendel participated in a journalism training program at Yale University (USA). She also won the World Press Institute program.

For several years, she collaborated with The New York Times and foreign publications and television channels such as Politico Europe, VICE News, CNBC, New Eastern Europe, World Affairs Journal, Spiegel Online. She was also a communication consultant at the World Bank.

On June 3, 2019, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Julia Mendel as his press secretary. On May 1, 2019, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a competition for the position of press secretary to the President of Ukraine. The winner of the competition for the position of press secretary to President Volodymyr Zelensky was journalist Julia Mendel.

On April 30, 2021, it was announced that Julia Mendel was leaving the position of press secretary to the president. On July 9, 2021, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree relieving Julia Mendel of her duties as press secretary, with Serhiy Nikiforov appointed as the new press secretary.

Since July 2021, Julia Mendel has served as an advisor for foreign media relations at the leadership of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak. In this position, she is responsible for cooperation with foreign media.

On July 11, 2021, she published a book titled 'Everyone of Us is the President.'

On July 17, 2021, she started working on the 'Great Deoligarchization' project on the Ukraina 24 channel, where she received her own video column.

Personal Life. On June 4, 2022, Julia Mendel married former First Deputy Minister of Economy Pawel Kuht.
