Yuliya Mendel on Ermak: he filtered information for Zelensky and blocked his decisions

According to ТСН: Former spokesperson of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Yuliya Mendel, revealed that the former head of the president's office, Andriy Ermak, had a significant influence on the head of state and often manipulated the information he provided to him.

In an interview with Radio Free Europe, Mendel emphasized that Ermak presented data to Zelensky in the most favorable light for himself.

“He conveyed information to the president in a way that was convenient for him or how he interpreted it,” she stated.

Mendel also noted that the former head of the office sometimes blocked the execution of Zelensky's orders.

“There were cases when he called officials and asked them not to carry out what the president instructed,” Mendel recalled.

In her opinion, Ermak controlled all important decisions in the government:

“Everything went through him. He was a filter in power,” she stated, noting that she considers him “the most dangerous person in the current power vertical.”
“I am talking about this now, and I am scared. I understand that no one will believe this now, but I pray to God every day and thank him for being alive. Because Andriy Borysovych is a very dangerous person. And those who know him will understand this,” Mendel added.

Mendel also recalled events from 2019 when the Ukrainian delegation was in the USA. According to her, at that time, Ermak reached out to one of the American political consultants asking, “how to become president of the country.” This, according to Mendel, indicates his “political ambitions.”

She emphasized that even after his resignation, Ermak might maintain his influence over political processes in Ukraine and contacts with law enforcement agencies.

Additionally, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba recounted that Ermak rejected his proposal to establish direct contact with Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of the then-President of the USA. Kuleba stated that he believed such communication could strengthen Ukraine’s foreign policy positions.

According to the former minister, Ermak replied, “Kushner is not relevant and we shouldn’t bet on him,” as a result of which a potential diplomatic channel of interaction effectively disappeared. Kuleba noted that the lost connection is particularly significant because Kushner became an important participant in American negotiation processes regarding Ukraine.

Yuliya Mendel’s remarks about Andriy Ermak open up new aspects of understanding political processes in Ukraine. Her warnings about Ermak's influence after his resignation may indicate the presence of complex interconnections within the country’s elites, which continue to affect key decisions in the state. Many experts, considering the information from Mendel, are calling for a more detailed investigation of the situation to understand the potential threats to Ukraine's political stability.
