Zelensky Removes Yermak from the Headquarters and National Security Council: What Does This Mean.
According to ТСН: The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on partial changes to the composition of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, removing Andriy Yermak from this structure.
This decision was the result of a recommendation from the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, adopted in accordance with Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine On Defense of Ukraine.
"On partial changes to Article 2 of the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 24, 2022 No. 72/2022 On the Establishment of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief (with subsequent amendments) to remove A.Yermak from the composition of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief," - states the Decree.
In addition, according to information from another presidential decree, Andriy Yermak was removed from the composition of the National Security and Defense Council.
"On partial changes to Article 1 of the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated July 19, 2025 No. 501/2025 On the Composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (with subsequent amendments) to remove A.Yermak from the composition of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine," - states the Decree.
Earlier, former press secretary of the president Yulia Mendel noted that Andriy Yermak had significant influence over the president and often distorted information that was sent to him.
It was also reported that the publicity about searches by anti-corruption agencies in Yermak's case could significantly impact the political situation in Ukraine and possible peace negotiations. His role in the country's politics is hard to overestimate, as he performs several important functions in the president's team.
These changes in the composition of the Headquarters and the National Security and Defense Council indicate an activation of reforms in the management of the country. In the current political situation, the ability of state structures to respond to challenges such as anti-corruption investigations, which can significantly influence the further development of events in Ukraine, is crucial.
