Explosion in Moscow. Collaborator and founder of the Russian battalion 'Arbat' Sarkisyan killed.

On February 3, Monday, it became known that Armenian Sarkisyan died due to an explosion in the elite Moscow residential complex 'Alye Parusa'. This was reported by Russian media.

Armen Sarkisyan died in the intensive care unit, never regaining consciousness. Injuries from shrapnel wounds in the chest area near his heart were the cause of death.

It is known that after the explosion, Sarkisyan survived but lost a leg and was in a coma. However, it is now reported that he has died.

Who was Armen Sarkisyan?

Armen Sarkisyan (known as Armen Horlivskiy) was born in Horlivka, Donetsk region. He was a member of the close circle of the fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych and had been on international wanted list since May 2014 for organizing murders in Kyiv.

Sarkisyan supplied 'Titushki' to Maidan during the Revolution of Dignity. He was linked to former Party of Regions member Yuriy Ivaniushchenko. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sarkisyan was part of the group that killed journalist Vyacheslav Veremiy.

Collaborating with the FSB, Sarkisyan was tasked with creating an armed formation for military action against Ukraine. He led the special forces battalion 'ArBAT', which consisted of recidivists convicted of murders and other serious crimes.

Additionally, Sarkisyan was involved in acquiring thermal imaging devices, fuel, and building materials for the occupiers at the front through controlled companies. He was also the vice-president of the boxing federation of 'DNR'.

In December 2024, Sarkisyan was suspected of several articles of the Criminal Code:

• voluntary participation in illegal armed formations or providing them assistance in combat;
• assisting the aggressor state by prior agreement.

On February 3, an explosion occurred in the elite residential complex 'Alye Parusa' in Moscow. It is known about the injured and the deceased. There are suggestions that the deceased is one of the residents of the residential complex who entered the building with security guards. However, this information has not yet been confirmed.
