Conflict between China and Taiwan: accusations and provocations
The Chinese government has accused Taiwan of provocations, believing that the island is ignoring the proposed peace initiatives. The chief curator of Chinese policy towards Taiwan, Qiu Cui-chen, believes that Beijing is responsible for the rising tensions, using 'extreme pressure' and military threats against the island.
According to the minister, Taiwan has actively proposed peaceful solutions to the conflict, but sees no sincerity in China’s actions. He also emphasized that it is unacceptable for a democratic country to be treated as part of China or for its own statehood to be eliminated.
The statement from the Taiwanese minister indicates a deepening conflict between China and Taiwan, where both sides mutually accuse each other of provocations and unfavorable actions.
