Explosion of the tanker of the shadow fleet of Russia near the shores of Chukotka: crew members injured

According to FREEДOM: Near the shores of Chukotka, an explosion occurred on a tanker from the shadow fleet of Russia, resulting in injuries to two crew members. This was reported by the Center for Counteracting Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (CPD), as reported by FREEДОМ.

Russian propagandists are trying to downplay the scale of the incident, claiming that there was no oil spill. However, CPD experts pointed out that this incident highlights serious problems within the Russian tanker fleet.

'Under sanctions, Moscow is deprived of the opportunity to carry out quality repairs and use certified parts, leading to frequent accidents. Explosions, fires, and spills of oil or toxic substances are a direct consequence of the shadow logistics employed by the Kremlin in attempts to counter sanctions,' the message states.

It is worth noting that the United States imposed new sanctions against the international network of companies and ships related to the so-called shadow fleet of Iran.
