Ukrenergo proposes a 20% tariff increase: what to expect for consumers.
According to inkorr.com: The company 'Ukrenergo' has presented a proposal for a significant increase in electricity tariffs for the next year. According to the published draft, the cost of electricity may rise by 20% — to 823.77 hryvnias per megawatt-hour. Some 'green' metallurgy enterprises also predict a nearly 30% increase in tariffs.
These proposals require approval from the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities, which is scheduled for the end of 2025.
Last year, the NEURC already increased electricity transmission tariffs by 30%, although this increase was less than what 'Ukrenergo' requested. It is important to note that details regarding the distribution of funds received from electricity payments were previously explained to citizens.
Prospects for tariff increases in 2026
Ukrenergo has planned a significant increase in electricity tariffs in 2026, as well as a separate increase in prices for 'green' metallurgy and dispatch management. These proposals require approval from the National Commission, so a final decision is expected by the end of 2025.
This tariff increase may significantly impact the economy, as the rising cost of electricity again puts pressure on businesses and households, especially in an unfavorable economic situation. The public is monitoring this process, as the results may affect the overall financial situation in the country.
