Electricity tariffs will rise in 2026: NBU named the reason for the price increase.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, electricity tariffs may increase due to damage to the energy infrastructure, as reported by the National Bank of Ukraine.
Forecast for 2026
Experts believe that electricity prices for the population may rise in 2026 when the economy begins to stabilize. However, this increase will be partial and is estimated to be related to the shelling of energy facilities and extraction capacities of Russia in the third quarter of 2025.
Electricity deficit
The National Bank of Ukraine predicts an electricity deficit for the winter period of 2025/2026, which may amount to 4-6%. At the same time, in 2026, it is expected that the deficit may rise to 3% of annual indicators, which will negatively impact economic activity.
The NBU report emphasizes that the increase in electricity prices for the population is a result of the destruction of the energy infrastructure and the predicted electricity deficit for the coming years.
In the context of a growing energy deficit and the need to restore infrastructure, the issue of electricity tariffs becomes particularly relevant. Consumers should be prepared for possible changes that may affect their monthly expenses. At the same time, a stable economy is an important condition for improving the situation in Ukraine's energy sector.
